100%

Dear family and friends,

Korey is baptised! I have been blessed to have a baptism my very last week here in Canada! So sweet.

My full time service as a missionary means a lot to me. As this calling is coming to a close I can say that I have been transformed by the experiences.

I learned the principle of becoming. I know that my heart can become more and more pure as I think good thoughts, say good words and do good deeds. My body is a history of what I've eaten and my heart and soul is a history of what I have done. I know that this positive ability to change comes from the Grace of the Father and the Son. So many times when I notice the weaknesses and sins of myself I think about the Perfect Father and His Love, how He is slow to anger and quick to forgive, and how He sent His Son. I am grateful for the strength and forgiveness I have received.

One of the miracles I have seen is that I have been able to see at least one baptism, or fruit, in all 7 areas that I have served in. I know that miracles follow faith in Jesus Christ. I am blessed to be able to be a leader this way. Leading from the font. I have also learned to be a good follower and a good leader.

I have served faithfully. I have obeyed the rules, been forgiven of my wrong doings and I have learned to strive for excellence, for average is the enemy of excellence. I have learned to love freely and learned to uplift all. I have gained friendships here that I will never forget. I have learned the doctrines and know them by heart. I have become the master of my mind. I love my family much more than before. I know that the plan of salvation is real. There are no goodbyes in the gospel.

My journal will be one of my most cherished things. I know that I can look to it and gain strength and comfort and it makes me smile.

My heart is as calm as a mirrored lake. I am not nervous about going home. I have planned and I have received the knowledge that my mission is still the same and I can still be doing good constantly to keep a good history, a good heart. I know that my Father is pleased with the things that I have been able to accomplish here together with Him.

I know that there is so much more God has prepared for me. I know that I will look back and know that the mission is only the MTC for the rest of my life. That is what my mission means to me.

Love,
Elder Ernest Tin Yeung Lee

July 20, 2015 Week 99!

Dear family and friends,

This past week was good! Korey is planning to be baptized on the 26th of July so I will go out with a baptism! I am really excited for him. He is such a cool guy.

There's nothing else too exciting for me to share.... I'll see you in Hong Kong!

July 13, 2015

Dear family and friends,

This week has been good! We are seeing miracles happen. Last Monday we saw the suicidal less-active member again. We stopped the car to talk to him. 2 nights in a row! It can't be a coincidence... Well we have been meeting up with him since then and he introduced his friend to us. Him and his friends had no money and were just street bums fro a week. We played soccer with them and definitely see the blessings of living the word of wisdom because they can't run much at all.

We went on an exchange with the assistant to the president on Friday. It was a good day to work close to the temple.

The mission is coming to an end so fast! I feel ready for the life after the mission but also not excited to leave Canada. It's a weird feeling. Anyway, I will finish strong.

July 6, 2015

Dear family and friends,

This week was really good! Our area is improving bit by bit. We have cool new people learning about the gospel.

One of the highlights of the week is mission leadership council and another one is the zone council.
Elder Forsyth and I were pondering how to instruct and motivate the missionaries in the zone. We received many good ideas through revelation. We had an idea to keep themselves accountable to the goals we set together. We asked them to scatter around the chapel and kneel in prayer with their companion. Then discuss how many baptism could be happen this month and write it on a piece of paper. We totalled them up to 26 baptisms. It is a wonderful goal and EVERYONE is bought in! So we will see how it goes.

Another experience we had was that we were driving and Elder Forsyth saw our less active member on the street. We parked the car and caught him and taught him a lesson. He expressed he has had suicidal thoughts and we are God's help for him that he needed. The Spirit taught us what to say to comfort him and he is feeling better now.

Love,
Elder Lee

My experience is featured on the mission weekly email!

July 6, 2015

Dear Sisters and Elders,
We were blessed to see four baptisms this weekend.  Each is a beloved son or daughter of our Heavenly Father having a divine nature and destiny.  May we strive to truly help them to continue the path to the temple to obtain the covenants and ordinances available only there.
As we continue to grow in our understanding of how we can help in the whole work of salvation, we will see twenty baptisms each week.  It is coming.  We love and have faith in you.
From Alma 17:
11 And the Lord said unto them also: Go forth among the Lamanites, thy brethren, and
establish my word; yet ye shall be patient in long-suffering and afflictions, that ye may show
forth good examples unto them in me, and I will make an instrument of thee in my hands unto
the salvation of many souls.

Let us Go Forth and Establish His Word, being Patient in Long- Suffering and Afflictions so we can be Good Examples. Then we can become an Instrument in His Hands to Bring Salvation To Many Souls.

From our missionaries:
God Knows You:
A lady was walking on another street. She is struggling a bit in life and she remembered how she had met missionaries in Calgary and in Paris and how they helped her gain spiritual strength. She turned the corner and looked... There we are, walking towards her. We sat down and taught her a lesson. "Do you know what that means?" "No." "It means God knows you." She definitely felt the Spirit that day.....You know what that means? It means God knows me, too!

Training Cycle Topics for May

My companion and I completed putting the ward /branch vision and goals (mission plan), leadership list and current membership list in the CTM Essential Items binder”

Things to Consider:
1.       Dear fellow missionaries, the CTM now has a once-a-month, once a  transfer standard of excellence.  The new standard is that each companionship baptizes at least one person in their area each transfer.  As we do this, we will see 1000 baptisms each year.  Think and pray about it.  This is why we came here to serve as missionaries.
2.       Keeping your covenants is essential to being a consecrated missionary.
3.       FYI: we cannot teach inside the temple in the waiting area next to the recommend desk without the specific approval of the temple presidency.  We can teach outside the temple on the temple grounds and I strongly suggest that we do so.  We can show them them where the recommend desk is and the waiting area but we may do no teaching inside the temple.
4.       Mission prayer at 10pm on Saturday is a wonderful way to bless our mission.  Please continue this wonderful tradition.
5.       Remember that you are always a representative of the Lord.  Conduct yourself as if the Lord Himself were walking with you.  Keep your language elevated and refined so the Spirit can be strong in you.
6.       Another word for "HELP" is "MINISTER".

June 29, 2015 How are you all?

Dear family and friends,

This week was wonderful. We did 2 exchanges and went to a bunch of district meetings. The zone invited 1064 people to church on the streets. it was great.

One of the exchanges something miraculous happened. We were doing some contacting and like usual many people didn't want to meet with us to learn about the gospel...That's all-right hopefully they'll be interested someday. So then my exchange companion Elder Gleave and I started going to a former investigators home where we felt inspired to go to.

That led us to the right direction.

Meanwhile a lady was walking on another street. She is struggling a bit in life and she remembered how she had met missionaries in Calgary and in Paris and how they helped her gain spiritual strength. She turned the corner and looked... There we are, walking towards her. We sat down and taught her a lesson. "Do you know what that means?" "No." "It means God knows you." She definitely felt the Spirit that day.

I also would like you to know that that was just one of the many many miracles that happened here. You know what that means? It means God knows me, too!

Love,
Elder Lee

June 22, 2015 JK... Kitchener!!!‏

Dear family and friends,

I got transferred... So hold on to your packages and send it to the office...

Kitchener YSA is my new last area. President called on Wednesday morning to transfer me. My companion is Elder Forsyth and we are the zone leaders here. Elder Forsyth is a great missionary, I remember being his district leader when he was only 3 transfers old. I'm still more than twice as old as he is but he is definitely helping me to know how to be a good zone leader.

This week has been a change because we are now doing English work. I never thought I would start in English work and I never thought I would end in English work either. Well here I am.

We are working to build up this area more. YSA people are not so good with keeping commitments sometimes. It is so good to see the members! Especially the Chinese members here because they helped us out when I was here with my son Elder Kendell.

We have seen tons of miracles already and we are finding amazing new people fro our area and the zone!

Well, I'm pretty excited for the rest of the transfer.

Love,
Elder Lee

June 15, 2015 My Death Bed!! London Chinese

Dear family and friends,

I am staying here in London and this will be my last area. I am so glad that I am staying because we are gonna have a baptism. Simon is planning to be baptized on June 28th. Please pray for him to be protected from temptations.

We have had a really good week with more lessons than any other week we have taught this transfer. We found a family and the mom and the daughter came to church.

So Elder Blanscett is staying this transfer but there is news! Elder Lau from TaiPo Hong Kong. He is going to be the third elder in the area. So the only bad thing is that we need to find another bike. Anyway, we are so excited to get Elder Lau tonight.

So I am going to work my hardest! This transfer will be the best.

June 9, 2015

Dear family and friends,

This week was wonderful! Cool things happened. I have learned how it is important to pay attention to the details of life because often times that is what makes the difference the most effectively.

We taught Simon this week. He is a student of Western and he liked studying the Bible. We taught him about the Law of Chastity and he decided to live it.

This week the YSA sisters had two people come to sacrament that made it very special to me. We found Anthony after dropping by a member. He expressed that he is going through the grief of losing love ones and he is grateful that God found him through missionaries. We found David after eating at a members restaurant. He works for that member and he was taking a smoke break afterwards. I just gave an instruction that day to talk with everyone so that gave me extra motivation to talk with him. He came to church too.

Well even though we don't get to teach them, I am glad that I talked with EVERYONE. I know that the gospel is for all of us.

Elder Lee

June 1, 2015

Dear family and friends,
This week was really good!
Something really cool that happened this week was that we were on the bus an we found a student that went to school in London England. He was baptized there in 2012 and came here to study and lost contact with the church.
I know that Heavenly Father helped us find him.

I wonder how many of these people are around us! He is about the sixth person that I have found that has lost contact with the church.
We had stake conference and there was a big focus on keeping the sabbath day holy from the prophets and apostles recently. It was great to hear from our leaders including a seventy, Elder Richards.
So that's the week!

Dear family and friends,
It has been a good week! I am really grateful that we have been able to find new investigators quite consistently this week.
Short week since last Tuesday was preparation day. Quinn and Luna came to church! They only stayed for sacrament. They loved it. Thank you for your prayers.
Here's me and Elder Blanscett biking.

May 18, 2015

Dear family and friends,

We had another good week!

On Tuesday, we went a local college to go do some finding. We felt the inspiration to go. When we got there we only got a few numbers and just a few Chinese students live there. We left but on the bus ride home, we met a Chinese man who is studying ESL at the college. He came up to say hi to me! Saying that we have met the week before in the Chinese supermarket all the way across London. I took that as the reason we felt inspired to go there that day. His name is Quinn, he and his wife Luna have been looking for a church. They have came to ESL a few times now and have bonded with some members. It is great! Please pray for them!

This week at church I have gain some new insight about faith. I figured that humility is the prerequisite to faith. We have to recognize the limited knowledge of ourselves before we can hope for true things "not understood" Alma 32:21.

I testify that we do get revelation from church attendance!

Everything is going well.

Elder Lee

May 11, 2015 Happy Mother's Day!

Dear family and friends,

This week was so good!

Monday was the last day in Cantonese work! We had a good lesson with Jenny and Aris.

Tuesday was transfer day! Bye-bye Markham and hello London!

Wednesday was a crazy day for street contacting! People are so nice! We set up appointments for the whole week... It was great! We were so busy all the time this week!

Since Elder Blanscett and I don't have a car... We are left on the buses. We got two bikes and has been biking around! We got pretty tanned and one of the bikes was adjusted for a 14 year old so it was tiring to ride. Our ward mission leader came to fix it and I'm so excited to go biking around this week. I have to be careful with the pants thought because this week I broke three pairs of them, two broke just from biking...

The wards are great! I am excited to work with them this transfer!

Transferring to London!

Hey family and friends,

This past week really was amazing. Best week of the transfer for sure.

I got news that I will get transferred to London to do Chinese work. It seems like that I will have lots of fun there. This transfer is crazy and a lot of people got moved around. Many leaders have now took a step back to let newer missionaries serve. So next transfer I will not be serving as an assigned leader anymore. I think that this move was really inspired and that president is expecting me to build up London tons.

I am going to leave Elder Lee and go serve with a rather new missionary, Elder Blanscett. It's gonna be fun!

Sad to leave "home" though. I've spent so much time in the Markham Ward.

April 20, 2015

Dear family and friends,

This week has been really good! We are working together in unity. We have been able to see success in the area.

I don't really have any interesting stories this week but last week I forgot to tell you one. We were on exchanges and my temporary comp Elder Gunnell and I scheduled an appointment with a York university student named Brian. He is a less-active protestant and I was excited to teach him. We met at the library and it took us a while of walking around to find a spot. Anyway, we sat down and did the Preach My Gospel style getting to know you and ask what he wanted to learn from us. We did that and we wre about a couple seconds away from saying the opening prayer and we heard a voice, rudely, asking us if we were students. We said "no but we are with this guy and he is a student". He said "Oh, so you are lying?" He walked out saying he was gonna find security. Brian followed, we think he was too scared to get in trouble with anything. We followed and just explained the situation. At the end it turned out to be OK but we think the guy was just an offended janitor of the library that doesn't like religion. Brian left. That's my testimony that Satan knows what we're doing and tries to stop us. Amen.

We are going to the Museum today! I am excited and I am sure that I will bring you pictures this time. I probably have more stories to tell you. We'll see if I remember.

Dear family and friends,

This week has been good. We went downtown last week and we visited China town. We brought some cheap stuff there and it was pretty fun.

The work is going alright. Things are slowly unfolding. We only have one investigator progressing currently so we are expecting more as we work harder.

For today's preparation day we went to Scarborough to visit with the rest of the district members. We played some sports and then ate all you can eat sushi. We ate quite a bit.

What's going on with you guys?

Dear family and friends,

How are you guys?

I enjoyed this week. I especially enjoyed conference and helping our investigators watch it as well.

I particularly liked Elder Holland's talk about grace. It really helped me to recognize the part I am playing in the eternal quest of others.

We are going downtown later today so I'm gonna have to make this email short.

March 30, 2015

Dear family and friends,

This week has been a good week! Fiona was baptized and confirmed! On Friday she had a great baptismal service and then on Sunday she was confirmed! It has been awesome being here in Markham watching two of our sisters enter into the covenant this month.

So now Elder Lee and I have no one really progressing! Please pray that we'll find someone prepared to hear the gospel!

I really hope that this coming Sunday we'll be able to achieve standards of excellent. It is going to take a lot of faith and hard work.

The weather is slowly getting better. Sometimes it'll get above 0 and sometimes it goes back down. Almost all the snow is gone though which is great.

We'll keep you updated for anything exciting!

March 23, 2015 Tam-Tam Lee-Lee

Dear family and friends,
How are you all?

This week was great! Emily was confirmed and she was so happy afterwards. Her son Leo was there and we hope that he can follow his mom's example too someday.
This has been one of the fastest transfers I've had in the field! The transfer call came and Cantonese is splitting into two areas again. We are going to work so hard to get both areas to increase in work load. My new companion is Elder Lee from Chai Wan ward. Same stake eh? My two companions E.Tam and E.Tam are in the east side. Tam Tam Lee Lee.
We came up with an explanation that Lee-Tam and Lee-Tam would be too confusing for everyone so president clayton probably chuckled a bit when he made that decision.
Anyway, I'm excited for this transfer!

March 16, 2015

Dear family and friends,
This week was pretty good! We had stake conference and it was really enjoyable.
We have been teaching an investigator, Fiona, and it was really cool to see her gain a testimony. It happened while I was gone on an exchange. Elder Kunz replaced me an he bore his testimony and it really helped her feel the Spirit. I am so glad that he was there that day even though I didn't get to see it. She is being strengthened more and more and came to stake conference too.
God is in the works! She has been prepared to meet us. Well she'll be baptized not the coming week but the next. I probably won't be transferred... Not again.

March 9, 2015 Baptism

Dear family and friends,
This week Emily was baptized! It was a great service yesterday and it was definitely the highlight of the week. She was a member's friend and she was interested right away to learn of the gospel.
We forgot the camera so no pictures till later.
I am so glad to be able to help the ward grow stronger. "The success of The Church is determined by the spiritual strength of individual members." Emily's testimony will grow even more and she will be a valuable asset in the Lord's hand.
Well, lets get back to work!

Dear family and friends,

This week was good. Nothing too crazy happened.

Our investigators that are preparing for baptism are encountering some difficulties... Satan is so real! We are continuing to work hard to help them overcome those bad influences.

It was cool this week that I got to teach a friend from back in Hong Kong that went to my secondary school. She is studying in the University of Toronto now.

We also had our Chinese new year ward party this week and it was good as well.

That's this week.

Dear family and friends,
This week was awesome! We worked hard and achieved SoE! Which hasn't happened for me since a long time! The work is going quite well here.
We took the time to go to the temple today. It is closed but we took some nice pictures. It was about a 80 minute bus ride so it wasn't too bad. The temple is just so beautiful. It's awesome.
Not too much time today cause we traveled quite a bit.

Feb 17, 2015 Happy Birthday Ben!

Dear family and friends,

Ben still has never emailed me on my mission. Come on man!

Happy 19th Birthday.

This week I returned to Markham ward. It has been awesome. I love the people here so much. I feel that they are truly my brothers and sisters. My new companions are Elder Tam (David's son) and Elder Tam from HK. They are so fun to be around and we are getting the work done with awesome unity.

Well people are getting close to baptism again. We have an investigator Fiona that is progressing so well! She is a quick learner. She brings her daughter to morning seminary already.

Well that's this week.

Feb 9, 2015 Tim is baptized!!! Transferring back to Toronto Cantonese!‏

Dear family and friends,
This week was great! We baptized Tim Zhu. So sweet. The bad news is that I am getting transferred! Which means that I won't get to see his confirmation next week. So but I am  excited to go back to my dear "home area" Cantonese!
Tim's baptism was so great. A lot of the branch members came and Sid, a member that got baptized the day before Tim, gave a spiritual testimony. Edward is a member that I knew from last year. He goes to school and church here and he  baptized Tim! Tim also brought some friends from 佛山. Cool eh? The baptism was very spiritual and I am just so happy for him.
I am so excited to go back. We are going to be so busy next transfer. Cantonese work is my playing field! It's gonna be my 7th transfer there. My companions will be Elder Tam from Utah and Elder Tam from Hong Kong.
Well that's it for this week.

Dear family and friends,
This week was good. It snowed a ton last night. We took some pictures.
Last week was good. We found some pretty awesome people to teach.
Our investigator, Tim, is planning to be baptized this coming Sunday. He is doing well except he is pretty busy with school this week. We have got to finish teaching and help him to be ready to achieve that goal. Tight schedule!
Pray for Tim!

Dear family and friends,

This past week was pretty good. We were so close to achieving the Standards. This week we are confident.

We are still teaching the Cantonese guy Tim and he brought another friend, Daniel. They are doing great! They came to church and are coming closer to Christ step by step.

Yeah nothing too crazy this week. See you next week. Gonna go shopping now.

Jan 19, 2015 Elder Oaks!

Dear family and friends,

This week was super awesome! Elder Oaks came and we all got to listen to him and shake his hand. It was great being there. He was supposed to come at 9:30 but the plane got delayed so he got there at 2. We spent that waiting time listening to President and Sister Clayton, as well as an Area 70 Elder Allard.

Then we broke for lunch and there were like 30 missionaries in the Subway sandwich place that we went to.

We returned and waited...Finally he came! Along with a 70 from the second quorum, Elder Kasher.

Unfortunately, because the meeting started late, we spent a lot less time than we expected with Elder Oaks. Afterwards, he had another short meeting with the local members and investigators. By 7pm, he was on the way to catch another plane.

So that was exciting. We have an investigator,Tim, that is from FoShan. Same hometown as grandpa! He came to church and now he has a goal for baptism on the 8th of Feb. Sweet!

That's pretty much the week. How about you?

Jan 12, 2015

Dear family and friends,

This week was pretty good. We found an interesting investigator. She is Chinese and she chose to join the Islam faith about half a year ago. While we were walking along the sidewalk we noticed her on the other side and we crossed the road to talk with her. She agreed to meet two day later. At the beginning of the lesson, she was very unwilling to do anything, she would not even read from the pamphlet out loud. We tried our best to be patient and loving. We could tell that there were a couple instances that she paused and felt the Spirit. At the end of the lesson she agreed to read the Book of Mormon to find out more. There was clearly a change of heart. I have a testimony that the Atonement can work in minutes, if we allow it to happen.

Since we joined the ward, we have been fed nearly every night. It was pretty awesome. Most members here are really helpful and friendly.

Nothing much else. We are working.

Dear family and friends,

I need to have an excited title to match my excited first week here in Kitchener. This week has been Spirit-filled. We are working with the leadership a ton to seek opportunities to serve more.

I just feel great giving service. It is a great responsibility to be trusted by the Lord and by the members.

We went to the temple this week! Starting from January this year, temple has a day approximately each month for recent converts and returning members to go and do baptisms, Elijah is a new convert here and we had the opportunity to go with him. The weather was pretty bad that day, tons of snow! We made it to the temple and it was a great experience for everyone. It was also the first time in this temple that they have a session like this.

I hope that we will go again. That means we are going to have to work extra hard to get them there. It is a pretty good motivation for us,

The temple really is the house of God. I felt it.

Love,
Elder Lee
